Start with diameter, length, support and removal rate

Model size alone does not define the correct lathe. Compare the real cutting envelope, bar or chuck work, tailstock requirement, spindle torque and production target.

A quick guide to the model names

C
Turret-type CNC lathe — tools mounted on a turret.
C200 / C250 / C300 / C360
Nominal main-spindle chuck diameter class, in mm.
500 / 1000 / 1500
Nominal maximum turning-length class, in mm — an approximate designation, not an exact specification.

Chuck diameter is not the maximum turning diameter or bar capacity. The number after the hyphen is only a nominal turning-length reference. Confirm the actual dimensions, configuration and usable machining envelope in the model’s specification table, taking workholding and tooling into account.

This guide covers the standard P and C naming patterns shown here. Do not apply it to additional letters or special series such as CX200, C200H or C200HS; check their individual product pages.

Data note: For C300-1000/1500/2000 and C360-3000, confirm specifications and configuration with Chuanhe before quotation. C360-1000 has separate documented linear-guide and box-guide configurations; both specify a maximum spindle speed of 1800 rpm.

Selection workflow

Four checks prevent oversizing or undersizing

A reliable quotation starts with the workpiece and production route, not a model name.

Send a Part Drawing
01

Define raw and finished size

Provide maximum diameter, length, clamping allowance and whether the job starts from bar, forging or casting.

02

Confirm support and rigidity

Mark overhang, tailstock support, interrupted cuts and material hardness.

03

Confirm turret and tooling

List required operations, tool count, boring-bar size and chip-control risks.

04

Set output and automation targets

Share annual volume, target cycle time, loading method and inspection plan.

Typical applications

Match the platform to the real cutting task

Bar and chuck components

Use smaller C160/C200 models for compact, repeatable turning where speed and floor space matter.

Shafts and flanges

C250/C300 platforms add length and diameter capacity for broader industrial work.

Long heavy workpieces

C360 configurations support large bores, long shafts and higher-rigidity cutting strategies.

Buyer questions

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose between C200 and C250?

Compare real turning diameter, bar capacity, chuck size, length and required spindle torque—not only the model number.

When is a tailstock required?

Long or slender parts often need tailstock support. The final choice depends on length-to-diameter ratio, material and cutting load.

Does every machine use the same turret?

No. Current agreements include different 8- and 12-station turret models. Tool count and holder size must be confirmed in the quotation.

Can Chuanhe review cycle time?

Yes, when the drawing, material, operation list, tooling assumptions and annual quantity are supplied.

Which models require specification confirmation before quotation?

Confirm the specifications and configuration of C300-1000/1500/2000 and C360-3000 with Chuanhe before quotation.

Are prices shown online?

Final price depends on spindle, turret, control, tailstock, automation, voltage, acceptance and destination.
